Medigap Insurance- Should You or Not?

Medicare supplemental insurance comparison shows you how Medigap insurance will be a valuable addition to your existing Medicare.

Simply put, here is a simple and straight to the point understanding and definition of Medicare. If you are thinking of getting the Medicare Advantage, it is really the managed care option, which is a ‘continuity of sorts, for your Medicare benefit, while the traditional fee-for-service benefit, which means you can go to any doctor or physician, and they bill Medicare directly on your behalf for the service that you availed from them. Medigap, then, is the supplemental insurance that is over and above your traditional Medicare.

One thing that you need to be aware of, before you think of getting any additional plan, or changing whatever you have right now, is your health. Are you healthy enough for your current provider to sustain you until you reach the age of sixty-five? Healthy doesn’t necessarily mean ‘never been hospitalized’. If you have some prescription drugs, or if you have your own doctor, before getting any of the additional insurance or adding to what you already have, talk to your doctor. They would give you a good insight on what and how they are paid, most especially answers regarding your medication.

If you check on the internet, not only will it yield you several answers to questions, it will also make you confused with the information that is given to you. As much as all these websites spurt forth information, talking to someone who can give you the necessary answers is always a good welcome.

  1. Medigap insurance is the same as Medigap Supplement insurance. FYI, it is intended to cover the gaps that are not covered by Medigap Supplement insurance.

  2. Medigap insurance plans are known to cover entire medical expenses for the insurance holder and their family members. Opt for such insurance policies and secure your future!

  3. I think governments sponsored health care programs are good especially for those families and senior citizens who find it difficult to cover their medical expenses.
